CANADA AFRICAN CUP OF NATIONS

Black Youth Award Night

Each year, CACN hosts the Black Youth Award Night. This event is a celebration of the incredible achievements made by young black Manitobans in various fields. This event recognizes the accomplishments of black youth in sports, politics, education, tech, healthcare, and business.

The event inspires and encourages other black youth to pursue their dreams and strive for excellence in their chosen fields. The award night also provides a platform for networking. It encourages young people to continue striving for excellence. It serves as a reminder of the positive impact that black youth can have on society when allowed to excel. It is an evening of celebration and inspiration, honouring the accomplishments of our young people and encouraging them to continue to reach for the stars. The event features African talking drums, dancers, and local artists.

This event also celebrates the players, teams, communities, coaches, and volunteers that participated in the just concluded African Cup of Nations Tournament while also raising funds for a local charity, Sports Without Boundaries, which provides free sporting programs for BIPOC youth across Canada. This year’s Black Youth Award Night will be hosted on Friday, August 25th, 2023, at Centro Caboto Centre.
